Australia's new Prime Minister, Tony Abbott, is in power due to the money and influence of media mogul Rupert Murdoch. The Australian people were drip fed information from News Limited in a heavily biased election. Abbott's main policy, if you can call it that, is to "Stop the Boats." He has run from the media several times when quizzed on the deaths of asylum seekers in Australian waters. He refuses to appear on television, in particular the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, after he was embarrassed by Leigh Sales on the 7.30 Report. During a recent visit to Indonesia he locked out the Indonesian press, preventing them from quizzing him on his "boat buy-back" scheme. A policy that directly impacts on the Indonesian people. According to Indonesian journalists what Abbott did was in breach of Indonesian law.
I call on the Australian people to no longer sit idly by and watch as people are denied their basic human rights. The Australian Government has wrapped the country in a cloak of freedom. It is not as free as people think. Any country that unlawfully detains human beings is not a free country, rather one that is slowly descending into the depths of dictatorship. This is blanketed by our so-called "free elections" in which we vote for parties that don't necessarily have our interests at heart but rather their bank balance and power. So "Remember, remember, the 5th of November. The gun powder, treason and plot. I have no reason that the gun powder and treason, should ever be forgot."
